ORIENT midfielder Adam Chambers has vowed to find his top form from last season to help the O’s bounce back from two heavy defeats on the road.

Following an opening day win over Hereford, the east Londoners have since suffered a 4-1 loss at Ipswich in the League Cup and a 3-0 drubbing against Peterborough at the weekend.

And talking ahead of the visit of Carlisle on Saturday, former West Brom man Chambers is looking to rediscover the level of performances that won him both the club’s and supporters club’s player of the season awards.

He said: “If I’m honest I don’t feel that I’ve played as well as I can so far this season.

“But hopefully I can start to get a bit of form back as quickly as possible, because I need to start to pull my weight in the team especially as we’ve just suffered a couple of bad results.”

Reflecting on the team’s recent performances, Chambers added: “After a good start to the season we were looking to go on a similar run to the one we had last year.

“But that hasn’t happened and, against Ipswich and at Peterborough, the most disappointing thing is that we’ve struggled to create chances and not got into either game really.

“I’m sure that they will be the main things we will be looking to put right on Saturday against Carlisle.

“Of course that isn’t going to be an easy game for us, because they are always a very decent side who have made an excellent start to the season.

“But we need to beat teams like this especially at home, because we do need to improve on our form at our place from last season.

“It cost us at times last year, and we will certainly be aiming to be do better at Brisbane Road this time so hopefully we can build on the Hereford win on Saturday.”
