REDBRIDGE: Trust leads fight against superbugs

9:00am Thursday 24th July 2008

POTENTIALLY fatal hospital-born infections are being wiped out by the borough's hospital trust.

New figures reveal that the Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust - which controls King George Hospital in Goodmayes - is the best body in the country for battling Clostridium difficile (C Diff) and also excels at tackling MRSA.

Only 194 cases of C Diff were reported in the organisation - with also operates Queens Hospital in Romford - the best performance for any large trust.
